Information

Between Dreams, Diagraf (Patrick Trudeau) and Claire Kenway

What does sleep look like? What happens in a dream? In this audiovisual performance based on circadian rhythms, sleep, dreams, and brainwave frequencies modulate sound synthesis and generate audio-reactive geometry. In Between Dreams, algorithmic image generation and particle systems blend with waves of ambient music. Designed to induce a state of deep, meditative relaxation, the performance is a journey into the heart of the unknown and the subconscious.

Retina, Herman Kolgen

It is within our iris, our human camera, that traces of light are transmitted to our brain; where they are potentially encoded into our memory.

How many images will our visual acuity have recorded, produced, and compiled throughout our lives, as it relies on light to interpret fragments of the world at every moment?

Through the open frontier that is our eye, Herman Kolgen probes the coexistence of humans and their intermediate territories. A dual relationship with reality that is both intimate and external, in all its fragility, permeability, and nervous energy.

One has to wonder, between photon bombardments and optical frequencies, what will remain of our diffracted moments and ephemeral flashes. A memory that is both sharp and blurred? Retinal amnesia or an indelible imprint?

INCERTITUDE, Matthew Biederman and Alain Thibault

INCERTITUDE is an audiovisual performance based on the principle of the same name by physicist Werner Heisenberg. The work is a meditation on concepts that continue to baffle scientists, yet serve as the foundation of our perception. INCERTITUDE is an intense, hypnotic journey using analog video and audio synthesizers as visual and sonic materials, manipulated and processed in real time through various digital workflows to create a unique experience with every performance.
