Soirée AV #3 2023

Mysterious hope, microscopic chaos and stroboscopic thoughts
Overview

Information
Aubes, Alexis Langevin-Tétrault and Guillaume Côté
Aubes is a new audiovisual performance that is both dazzling and accessible, mysterious and hopeful, radiating a sense of exalted euphoria.

mesocosm, Emma Forgues, Philippe Vandal and Loïc Lavoie
mesocosm is an audiovisual exploration of synthetic ecosystems presented by sound artists Philippe Vandal and Joël Lavoie, and multidisciplinary artist Emma Forgues. Combining modular synthesis, field recordings, computer-generated imagery, and real-time video manipulation, mesocosm seeks to orchestrate the parameters of an autonomous ecosystem, drawing inspiration from the erratic and unpredictable behaviors of the most elementary life forms. Formed from microscopic particles of sound and image, a new materiality emerges—at once gentle and violent. Bordering on glitch, noise, ambient, and electroacoustic, mesocosm reveals a synthetic and organic visual universe suspended between chaos and harmony.

Points de tension(s), Myriam Bleau and Xavier Ménard
This audiovisual performance highlights the tensions created by intrusive thoughts through sober, fragmented sounds and visuals. In Points de tension(s), a modular soundscape of synthesizer, guitar, and electronics, accompanied by a fragmented visual narrative, works with dynamic cuts and strobe effects created in real time.
