EVENT PRODUCTION MANAGER

Temporary contract - Early April to July 20, 2019

ELEKTRA is an organization that promotes works and artists that combine art and new technologies. We organize several major activities in Montreal and abroad:

  • The ELEKTRA International Digital Art Festival, an annual event since 1999 to make people discover the full diversity of performance practices, particularly audiovisual and robotics.

  • BIAN - International Biennale of Digital Art, since 2012, which is a major exhibition of digital contemporary art.

  • MIAN - International Digital Art Marketplace, organized in parallel with the festival, it presents a series of conferences and allows international delegations to come in Montreal with the objective of generating opportunities for international collaborations.

  • In parallel to these events, we organize various activities on local and international grounds, which contribute to the influence of the Montreal artistic sphere, the public awareness and audience development.

 

ELEKTRA is looking for an Event Production Manager. You will be responsible for the event coordination of the ELEKTRA Festival and MIAN as well as the related administrative tasks. You will be the guarantor of the smooth running of these events. 

MISSIONS

FESTIVAL 2019 :

  • Establish schedules, supervise material and human needs;

  • Supervise global logistics:

- Coordinate the reception of artists and professionals;
- Booking of itineraries, monitoring of accommodation,
- Production of greetings documents such as roadmaps and invitation letters;

  • Coordinate the team of volunteers: needs assessment, planning and organization of schedules and teams, etc.

 

MIAN 2019 :

  • Plan and organize the project

  • Carry out the planning of the event;

  • Coordinate the reception of professionals and supervise overall logistics:

- Logistical follow-up with the delegations received;
- Booking of itineraries, monitoring of accommodation;
- Logistical and technical follow-up with partner locations;
- Production of welcome documents such as roadmaps, letters of invitation, presentation

  documents, etc. ;
- Related tasks related to welcoming professionals during the event, etc.

YOUR PROFILE 

  • Bilingual English-French

  • University education in cultural management is appreciated;

  • Versatility and ability to manage several files at once;

  • Excellent organizational and planning skills;

  • Stress and priority management;

  • Ability to adapt and solve problems;

  • Autonomous and able to work in collaboration with the whole team; - Knowledge of the Adobe suite (especially Indesign), Office suite and the Mac environment;

  • Have a keen interest in digital art, media arts or new technologies;

  • Dynamism;

 

Availability (full-time) - 35 hours / week, from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm with increased availability in festival period.

 

Duration and conditions:

  • Start date: early April

  • End of contract: July 20

 

Salary: according to the current salary scale and experience
