Morgan Legaré

Montreal (Quebec), Canada

Originally from Trois-Rivières, Morgan Legaré lives and works in Tiohtiá:ke/Montreal. He has presented his work in both solo and group exhibitions at the Laroche/Joncas gallery in Montreal.

A visual arts graduate and multidisciplinary autodidact, his practice oscillates between installation and media art.

His work focuses on the creative process, questioning its subject by using exhibition spaces as both a reference and raw material. He designs site-specific installations and constantly reinvented cognitive-perceptual experiences. He produces works using 3D modeling software to create printed images, videos, modular architectures, and spatial, pictorial, and sculptural arrangements.

Legaré is actively involved in the Montreal art community as a member of the artist-run centre CLARK. He also regularly donates his work to organizations such as Les Impatients for their Parle-Moi d’amour exhibition. In collaboration with curator Jean-Michel Quirion, he presented the exhibition Extraction at the artist-run centre L’Œil de Poisson in Quebec City. He also participated in the 5th edition of Artch in Montreal and will soon be presenting his work at the ELEKTRA gallery and Fais-Moi l’Art. His works are held in the Majudia collection, the Ubisoft Montreal collection, and several other private collections in Quebec.
