Maize Longboat is a digital media educator, producer, and video game creator whose practice stems from the intersection of Indigenous communities and video games. His work reclaims misrepresentation and restores cultural integrity. Longboat served as Associate Director of the Skins Workshops with the Aboriginal Territories in Cyberspace (AbTeC) and Initiative for Indigenous Futures (IIF) research groups. These workshops teach Indigenous youth how to adapt stories from their community into experimental digital media, such as video games. His game,Terra Nova, won the Best Emerging Digital or Interactive Work prize at the ImagineNATIVE Film and Media Festival (2019).
