Boris Eldagsen is a photomedia artist based in Berlin. With a multidisciplinary background, Eldagsen has trained in photography and fine art, intermedia and conceptual practices, as well as philosophy. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Mainz, the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, the Sarojini Naidu School in Hyderabad, the University of Cologne and Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz. His work combines photography and video with mixed media to create immersive visual languages that explore the nature of the mind and the unconscious, whilst also addressing, in a striking manner, the issues surrounding image generation by AI (artificial intelligence). A founding member of the Deutscher Fotorat’s AI working group, his works have been exhibited worldwide, including at ACP Sydney, EMAF Osnabrück, the Edinburgh Art Festival, the Kochi-Muziris Biennale and the Perth Electronic Arts Biennale. Eldagsen has also given numerous lectures, leading discussions and workshops at more than 30 universities and art schools around the world.
