Unfold X 2026: Reality Check

Reality Check explore a world where reality is no longer a stable entity, as it becomes increasingly entangled with the digital realm. Our identities now extend into networks, algorithms, and artificial agents, which play an ever-growing role in shaping our memories, relationships, and desires. Much like entangled quantum particles whose states cannot be described independently of one another, we and the digital world have become constitutive of each other. As algorithms and our artificial companions begin to shape who we are, where does the self reside, and what might lead us to believe that we are living in a simulation ourselves?

Reality Check does not seek to restore a single definition of reality. Instead, the exhibition invites us to examine how reality is perceived, constructed, mediated, and contested. If reality is becoming optional, the question may no longer be "what is real?", but rather: how do we determine what becomes real for us?
