Model 3
‘Model 3’ is the third model for exploring the spatiotemporal layers between
moments and durations, representations and creations, by crossing the
boundaries of pre-cinema history, the record of death, movement and illusion,
sound and image. The working machine. The sound drives the image, and
the image echoes the sound, invoking the 19th-century vision of the time,
which sought to transform the world into a spectacle. This vision, now
entombed, attempts to connect with today’s death-image, which has lost its
grave. Through optical, chemical, and mechanical movements, operating by
rules of probability and control, it reconsiders the apparatus of illusion and the
illusion of the apparatus as a state of (im)possibility.

Motoko
Seoul, South Korea
Motoko is a Seoul-based audiovisual artist and image/sound researcher. Building on research into cinematic apparatuses, he explores sound, image, materials, and various conditions, striving to bring the cinematic apparatus into the realm of live performance in an expanded form. The mechanisms of optical, chemical, and mechanical devices serve as specific elements for this purpose, and she seeks to re-evoke their relationships and characteristics as pseudo-apparatuses from a contemporary perspective.

STD10
STD10 is a work that utilizes elements based on mathematical inquiry and learning as musical tools. Inquiry and experimentation play essential roles in helping humans grow and develop in various fields and purposes. In the realm of art, they serve not only as preparatory steps preceding creation but also as crucial factors that shape the meaning and direction of the artistic process. This work emerged from the artist's process of exploring and studying mathematics and science as part of artistic creation. The artist encountered aesthetic elements in the process of acquiring and understanding new knowledge for diverse creative endeavors. Therefore, this work is not a creative result. It is an artistic expression of the process of learning and understanding a certain field. The artist chose sound as the medium for this expression. Both learning and sound are invisible. Inspired by this similarity, the artist turns the process of learning into sound. This approach moves away from traditional conceptual music, and offers a new way of creating music that shows the aesthetic of inquiry.

WYXX
Ansan, South Korea
WYXX creates works based on units, rules, and logic—bringing structure to the chaos of complex systems. His practice explores how these elements interact, revealing new forms and aesthetics. Based in Seoul, WYXX works across sound, media, algorithms, and images. Since 2019, he has shown work at events like WeSA Festival, PRECTXED, and Digital Narcosis, while also releasing albums and engaging in diverse artistic projects.

UN/Readable Sound
UN/Readable Sound is an audio-visual performance that explores the boundaries of human perception and sensory experience. The piece emphasizes that sound does not resonate uniformly for everyone; each person interprets it differently. Here, sound is more than what we hear—it’s a physical wave experienced through the body. Through symbolic imagery of the sun and moon, cityscapes, machines, and deserts, the work creates an immersive, multi-sensory space where sound and visual elements intersect. Audience members are invited to engage deeply with these sound waves and visuals, resulting in a layered, sensory-rich experience that challenges conventional listening.

Gazaebal
Seoul, South Korea
Gazaebal is a K-pop hitmaker and the first Korean artist to top the UK techno chart. He co-founded Tacit Group in 2008, a media art collective blending sound and code, with over 100 global performances. Since 2014, he’s led WeSA, Korea’s only sound and audiovisual art festival, as artistic director. Returning to solo work, he explores exhibitions, performances, and NFTs. At Elektra Festival, he presents UN/Readable Sound, nominated for the 2025 Korean Music Awards and selected as 2024’s New Work of the Year by the Korea Arts Council.
