ISEA 2023: SYMBIOSIS

In this time of global crisis—health, ecological, economic, and democratic—symbiosis is a polysemous concept that allows us to explore the changes and transformations currently underway in the digital age from a cross-disciplinary perspective. Under the theme "SYMBIOSIS," this 28th edition of ISEA questions the assumed meaning of progress, particularly within the current environmental and health context, and imagines possible, viable futures for our planet and its ecosystems.

As a recognized leader in the field of digital creation, Quebec helps promote digital art on the international stage. For this global gathering focused on creation and research, ELEKTRA has been invited to present a program for "Focus Québec" and offer a look at Quebec's digital creative scene.

In an exhibition at the Forum des Images, a dozen artists are showcasing recent works that touch on artificial intelligence, the role of nature in our increasingly technological society, robotics, and interactivity. This human-machine symbiosis is fully revealed through an extraordinary robotic performance, Inferno, at Le Cube Garges. Presented in its full 18-exoskeleton version, Inferno will provide a rare symbiotic moment that you will remember for the rest of your life.
