Nicolas Baier

Often described as a collagist, Nicolas Baier uses digital technologies to combine photographic images, bas-reliefs, high reliefs, painting and video to reflect on our connections with and relationship to these very technologies.

Nicolas Baier received a BFA from Concordia University, Montreal. Baier has held solo exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art, Toronto; the National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa; the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec; the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal; and the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. His work has been included in group exhibitions at MASS MoCA, North Adams, Massachusetts; MAC VAL, Paris; and the Neuer Berliner Kunstverein, Berlin.
