Connections

Anna Anthropy (AKA Auntie Pixelante) is an independent game designer, role-playing game designer, educator, critic, fiction writer, game historian, and “cyborg”. In gaming communities, this term refers to the way technology can become an extension of one’s identity and creativity. Anna’s prolific practice centres queer alternative games that are honest, open and unafraid. She has gained widespread recognition for her game Dys4ia (2012), which takes players into her experience with hormone replacement therapy, and the frustrations felt by the transgender community. She is also known for her part manifesto, part DIY, debut book, Rise of the Videogame Zinesters (2012).
