A.M. Darke is an artist, educator, and Director of the Creative Technologies program at UC Santa Cruz. Through her practice in critical games and experimental media, Darke examines power and representation from a social and technocultural lens. She is the founder of the Open Source Afro Hair Library, a 3D platform that serves as a living archive of Black hair and digital culture, and led the creation of Code My Crown, a guide to designing Black hair in games. Darke has been recognized among the most influential people in games and technology.
