Empty forms

Sébastien Lacomblez and Emmanuel Pire have been collaborating for many years on various projects. Together, they developed Optimum Park™, a performative device that is totalizing and even totalitarian, born from their shared interest in aesthetics, politics, and the understanding of technical processes. Their project, Conus Textile, produces tapestries using a cellular automaton generator inspired by a dangerous shell from the southern seas. Their work explores the relationships between systems, with a strong interest in generative artificial intelligence.

Empty forms

Forms are not different from emptiness, and emptiness is not different from forms.
In the space where our thoughts manifest, images emerge as entities in constant metamorphosis. These manifestations, like creatures without a definitive form, oscillate between the familiar and the strange, confronting us with our own impermanence. Like the shape-shifting entity in The Thing, they absorb and imitate. They remind us that all identity is a temporary construction, subject to dissolution and reinvention: waves taking shape in the fabric, in the matter in motion.
